Research Interests
My research focuses on precipitation climatology, quantitative evaluation of precipitation and snowfall, hydroclimatology, satellite remote sensing, and atmospheric data analysis.
I have led the development of APHRODITE, a gauge-based daily precipitation dataset for Asia. My current research focuses on snowfall over mountainous regions along the Sea of Japan, precipitation isotopes, aerosol effects on precipitation processes, and the evaluation of extreme precipitation.
I welcome opportunities for international collaboration on precipitation observations, data integration, snowfall evaluation, and climate-related research.
